Bios
Dr. William Zeng is a partner at Quantonation, an early stage venture fund with $200M+ AUM investing in quantum and deep physics technology companies. He is also founder and President of the Unitary Fund, an independent, non-profit research institute developing open quantum technology. His research focuses on quantum computer architecture, algorithms and software. He previously led an advanced computing research group at Goldman Sachs and the launch of the first quantum computers at Rigetti Computing. He received his PhD in quantum algorithms from Oxford University and his BSc in Physics from Yale University.
Andy Gollach is a Partner at HAX, where he runs investment operations for companies entering the HAX program. He also works closely with companies after investment, helping them de-risk their technology, develop scalable go-to-market strategies, and secure additional funding. Andy has over 10 years of technical and operational experience in renewable fuels and traditional oil and gas industries, where he worked as an engineer in nine different countries. He led a team on the deployment of a first-of-its-kind low carbon fuels facility while at LanzaTech, which went public in 2023, and contributed to the operations of many more large CAPEX projects. Andy holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Steve Socolof has been a technology investor for over twenty years. Steve’s interests are in enterprise software (particularly applications of AI/ML), data center to edge, internet of things, wireless, energy, environmental, and materials technologies. He is currently on the board of Adrich, Kintra Fibers, and SunRay Scientific and has overseen numerous succesful exits including Everspin, Stratis IoT, Vydia, Airclic, Alverix, Data Inventions, Flarion, Neohapsis, Silicon Hive and Sychip. Steve has also been a leader in the corporate venture community and was Chair of the Corporate Venture Group within the National Venture Capital Association and on the Advisory Board of Global Corporate Venturing. Prior to Tech Council Ventures, Steve created a venture incubator for Lucent’s Bell Laboratories for 5 years and then formed and ran New Venture Partners for 15 years investing in technologies spun out of corporate labs. Steve received an MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth. He received degrees in economics and mathematical sciences from Stanford University.
