KOSA, which flew to the US, is stepping up to expand the global presence of Korean AI startups.
KOSA Hosts Public-Private Invitational Seminar and Networking Event in New York, Promoting Startup Investment and Talent Exchange
The Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association (KOSA) has rolled up its sleeves to expand the presence of Korean artificial intelligence (AI) startups in the US market and lay the foundation for cooperation.
KOSA announced on the 16th that it held the ‘New York State Public-Private Invitational Seminar and Networking (Soft-Landing in the US)’ in New York, USA on the 15th (local time) and signed a four-party partnership (MOU) with New Jersey-based American innovation organizations.
This event was organized as part of the AI Innovation Accelerator Program (AIIA), supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT. AIIA is a global accelerator program for Korean AI companies to expand into the eastern United States.
The event was attended by approximately 100 people, including representatives from government agencies such as the New York State Economic Development Authority, the New York City Economic Development Authority, and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, as well as venture capital (VC) firms and startup representatives. Attendees discussed local startup support policies and ecosystem trends, and discussed potential collaborations with Korean companies through panel discussions and networking sessions.
At the event, KOSA signed a business agreement with New Jersey’s leading innovation organization, TechUnited (NJ), startup incubation studio BetterFutureLabs, and venture capital firm Tech Council Ventures. The agreements will promote startup networking and investment, talent and education exchange, and joint program development. This is expected to establish a bridgehead for Korean AI companies in the eastern US market.
KOSA will also participate in the ‘KOOM 2025: STARTUP Festival’ held at the Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn, New York from the 16th to the 18th of this month in collaboration with the United Korean Founders (UKF).
At this event, 14 startups participating in AIIA will operate exhibition booths and provide networking and collaboration opportunities with local venture capitalists and startups. UKF, KOSA, and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) will also co-host an AI conference session. Professor Vasant Dhar of New York University’s Stern School of Business will moderate the session, and Korean AI startup Nuvilab CEO Daehoon Kim and Exosystems CEO Human Lee will highlight global examples of social value creation and local collaboration models in the US.
KOSA Chairman Cho Jun-hee said, “This partnership and networking is an important opportunity to expand the presence of Korean AI startups in the US market and strengthen the foundation for cooperation,” and added, “We will continue to work closely with major local global players to actively support the global growth of domestic companies.”
